OWINGS MILLS/ COLUMBIA, Md.—Bonnie Heneson Communications (BHC), a full-service marketing communications agency, took home a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Best in Maryland Award of Excellence at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Best In Maryland Awards. The award was in the Integrated Marketing Communications category for their entry "A Holiday Tradition Made New: BHC ushers Symphony of Lights to a record-breaking season."

Symphony of Lights, Howard County General Hospital's annual holiday fundraiser, is a family oriented drive-through display of more than 70 animated and stationary holiday light creations. Following BHC's fully-integrated, multi-pronged campaign that included marketing, advertising and media relations, Symphony of Lights enjoyed the most successful season in its 17-year history with more than 15,000 carloads of people attending nightly drive-throughs.

Presented by the Maryland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Best in Maryland Awards are presented annually to public relations practitioners who, in the judgment of their peers, have successfully addressed a communications challenge with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness.

"It’s a great honor for both our clients and staff to win a PRSA Best in Maryland Award,” said Bonnie Heneson, president of Bonnie Heneson Communications. "It speaks highly about the quality of our work among the best public relations firms in the region, especially when the judges are our industry peers."
